It’s just four weeks until the highly anticipated Langdale Gala.
Held on the first Sunday in July each year, the Langdale Gala has run successfully for years and years. A mixture of activities and fun for people of any age and the whole family has made this gala one of the most popular in the county
It is primarily a community festival but many people flock from other parts of the county as well as from further afield to join in on this celebration of the area as well as Cumbria and the Lake District as a whole.
Traditional Lake District activities can be watched or take part in including Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling and a junior/senior fell run. For the smaller members of the family there’s a fancy dress competition and children’s flat running races and for everyone there are craft stalls, music, and food and drink.
For anyone travelling and visiting the area from out of the county and wishing to make a weekend of it then the Langdale Estate has a choice of accommodation close by including a 4 star hotel as well as Lake District self catering properties for hire.
