After last year’s huge success, the Windermere Christmas Celebration is back for its second year.
Held in the streets of this very popular Lake District village, be treated to the very best way to start this year’s festivities.
The dates December 9th and 10th with opening times from 11am until 8pm on Saturday 9th and 10am until 4pm Sunday 10th.
As in its inaugural year, the weekend attracted both locals and visitors from all over the country. What a great way to combine a weekend break with some last minute Christmas shopping and the ability to be fully immersed in Christmas!
It was reported that the weekend was the busiest trading day for Windermere businesses in 30 years as not only are there stalls adorning the streets in true festival style but the fantastic independent retailers in Windermere Village were open and offering complete Christmas cheer. The village has gift, clothing retailers, local food producers and suppliers and an excellent choice of cafes and inns for day long refreshments.
It was the local traders in both the stalls and the village itself that proved the biggest hits and this 2017 celebration is set to feature even more. Whether its locally made gifts including scents, food and crafts to locally reared and produced food for the festive table, just make sure if you’re visiting to bring plenty of bags! Hot food will also be available as well as, the absolute must, mulled wine.
The Windermere Christmas Celebration is an ideal time for sneaky. Pre Christmas break too. There are some great offers to be had in hotels in the area including the Damson Dene Hotel near Bowness and Windermere. The hotel has a very tempting two night winter deal on at the moment for just £99 per person for two nights B&B and dinner on the first evening.
